    Description

This is an early 1860s antique bone toothbrush that we dug from an outhouse privy pit that was filled in before 1870...it has no embossing that I can see....Made of a single piece of cow bone....4 rows of holes where originally it had hog bristles for the brush, but they have disintegrated from being buried in the ground.....6 1/4"long....good condition with only one small chip on tip of handle. People would often share one toothbrush for an entire family in the 1800s.
