Approx. 11 X 14 Inch Thin Cardboard Political Poster "Vote For Vincent L. Palmisano". "He has Kept Faith With The Veterans And The People Of The District He is opposed To a Sales Tax and is advocating a Tax on Labor Saving Devices to remedy the unemployment Situation and take care of Old Age Pension." "Democratic Candidate For The Democratic Candidate For The House Of Representatives From The Third Congressional District Election Tuesday, November 3rd, 1936". Palmisano was first elected to Congress in 1926. he was re-elected in 1928, 1930, 1932 and 1934. He defeated Republican John Phillip Hill in 1936, but Nancy Pelosi's dad and future Baltimore City Mayor, Thomas D'alesandro, Jr., defeated him in the Democratic primary in 1938. In1953, Palmisano's body was pulled from the Baltimore Harbor. It was thought that he was either a victim of suicide or murder. Poster is in fair to good condition with a small corner chip missing from the upper right hand corner and a few needle holes above the VO in Vote. Buyer will pay for shipping.
