1989 official NASA Rocketdyne SSME Photograph. Engine 2024 Closeout. Dated 9-28-89. Numbered: 89-522-3. SSME on its transporter heading to test stand at Stennis Space Center (SSC).
1981 official NASA Rocketdyne SSME engine Photograph. Dated Aug 31, 1981. Arrival of Engine 0107 at NSTL (now SSC). It has 2 tiny pin holes in upper corners from hanging.
1980s official NASA Pratt & Whitney RL10-A3 engine during deep throttling testing in E-6 test facility. Notice ice formation at end of nozzle.
