    I realize everything on eBay is "rare" or "magnificent" or "beautiful", etc. but I think this is a piece you won't see too often here or anywhere. Around 40" tall x 16" across, this very heavy lantern is from the production of the E F Caldwell Company of New York City, circa 1930 or so. Appears to have been rewired and works well. The white cylinders are believed to be later. Most likely glass when made, now a heavy white polymer cylinder which is far more practical and glows nicely. Very heavy so likely solid bronze with nickel and gilt. The very height of Art Deco
    Caldwell provided much of the lighting for Rockefeller center and Radio City Music Hall so they understood Art Deco well.
