ANTIQUE 1899 PAIR of Gas/Electric Wall Fixtures-Sconces-DEEP ETCHED SHADES

Description

A RARE matching pair of 1890-Early 1900's gas and electric combination wall fixtures in beautiful condition with original parts, finish, and DEEP ETCHED shades. These fixtures have been electrified and everything else is completely original! I haven’t had sconces with an original finish still intact for a LONG time. There are a few spots here and there, but is part of the character and only enhances that original look and feel.
The shades are deep etched with vertical flowers and vines and in great condition with no chips, cracks or scratches – the edges have a rough finish since they were ground during the manufacturing process. Both the gas and electric fitters are also original, in perfect condition - with all rosette set screws intact.
The gas sections have been wired and fitted with high quality, brass-shelled candelabra base sockets and look fantastic with the Edison bulbs that are now available in a wide variety of sizes and wattages. I am showing the fixtures with 40 watt small base bulbs and 60 watt standard Edison bulbs in the electric sockets. These look fantastic on a dimmer switch – which I highly recommend!
The back plates are 4 ¾ inches in diameter and will cover a modern, round electrical box. I am also including 2 new electric mounting brackets that will make them easy to install. The original gas pipes and gas jet nozzles are shown in the first few pictures, and I will include those with purchase.
