Antique 18th C. Hand Forged Double Candle Stand

Here's a really good early hand forged iron double candle stand, I believe it was made in the late 1700's to early 1800's period. This piece was entirely hand forged, is adjustable with a hand made turn key to secure it at the desired height. It has two very different candle holders at each end. Whether these were both original, or one was added later, I cannot say. One end has a candle holder with a round back plate for deflecting the flame, it is slightly wobbly, but is secure with no danger of detaching. It is secured onto the iron with a hand forged and hammered pin. The other end has a candle holder with a saw toothed rim along the drip pan. This has been secured with a screw and nut. It's either a repair to reattach it (from a missing pin) or it was added later, but looks as early as the rest of the iron. I am inclined to believe this was a repair to secure the candle holder on the iron. There is a handle about half hay down the shaft and an egg shaped knob in the iron below that, very interesting design with hand pounded feet. It stands 59" tall, the horizontal candle holder rod is 20" long with nice serpentine ends. There is about 17" between each of the three feet. Lots of surface wear, but solid as a rock. This is a barn find from Lancaster Co. Pa. You are buying it as found, as described and as shown in the photos. Local pick up is always an option with my listings and I am only willing to deliver this to my local UPS or FedEx stores for buyer to arrange their own shipping. This obviously will be a large parcel and best packaged by a professional shipper. I am also happy to cooperate with pick up by a shipper of your choice if you would like to arrange one to come and pick it up and deliver it to you. I am always receptive to best offers.
