Antique Victorian 19C Black Forest Carved Nude Mermaid Wall Sconce Light

Presenting a double light wall sconce in the form of a Black Forest carved mermaid. We suspect the mermaid transformed to a light fixture at the turn of the century give it take. The mermaid is beautifully carved. There is a break below the tail at the leaf tip. Someone handy could fine tune the leaf with a dremel or remove the leaf or leave as is . No other breaks or repairs detected. The candle stick socket covers, wax catchers and hardware are brass. The period hard board shades are quality in very nice condition. At one time the fixture had been hardwired for a wall installation. There is a drill hole at either side of the wall plate. The last owner hung the fixture with a wire threaded in the 2 holes above the top of the wall plate. The fixture comes with a 24 foot cord with in line switch. The mermaid measures approximately 20” x 7” at the widest, the hand. Measures 10” at the candles. Measures approximately 28” to the top of the bulbs. The right candle stick and hardware swivels slightly. It is not a problem at all and allows you to position it. If you need additional photo just ask!!
