    Description

We are selling an antique "After Sunset" Series Chandelier by Lightoliers. My research indicates that this lamp was manufactured in the 1
    920's or 1930's.
It is in good working condition and has been used regularly over our dining room table for years. It has been in our family for over 40 years. It has 4 light sockets which use the torpedo-style bulbs with a standard size base. Each bulb socket has its own switch, but we kept them on and controlled the light from a wall switch.
The glass shades are lovely and are painted with tiny flowers. They have no chips or cracks (they do have some marks on them from where the screws tighten to hold them to the lamp).
The bulb sockets and wiring was replaced before we purchased it.
The lamp is made of a kind of cast metal, but I'm unable to determine exactly what type of metal it is. The finish appears to be original.
    Measurements:
Lamp is 17 inches high (not including the chain) x 17 3/4 inches wide (without the shades attached).
The chain is 10 inches long.
    Bulbs not included.
The lamp can be shipped, but if you want to save the shipping costs, you can pick it up from our location in Garden City, New York (Long Island) - 40 minutes from Manhattan.
    No returns.
    Thanks for looking!

Background Info about The Lightolier Company:
Beginning in the 1920s, and for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very best.
Originally named the New York Gas and Appliance Company, the Lightolier company first distributed both gas and electric fixtures, which were mostly sold as component kits. The company quickly distinguished itself by styling and manufacturing its own designs. The name, lightolier, adopted in 1919, combined "light" with "chandelier." and signaled the company´s transformation into a forward-looking business.
From the outset, lightolier was an innovative marketer. Its early advertising efforts linked good lighting with good living. The
    "after sunset, lightolier,"
was a memorable slogan, reflecting the fact that early electric lighting was mostly used at night. A 1925 sales brochure, entitled "the charm of a light conditioned home", educated consumers about the value of good lighting, subtly underscoring the benefits of lightolier fixtures. By the 1920's, lightolier was already a well-known brand and recognized for its leadership.
