FLOWN NASA KSC Space Shuttle Main External Tank Bolt Compressive Washer.
This Artifact was designed to evenly distribute the forces associated with the Space Shuttle External Fuel/Oxidizer Tank Separation Bolts.
Two High Strength Corrosion Resistant Inconel circular plates sandwich a compressible honeycomb inner structure.
This device allows the high tensile strength forces on the Space Shuttle to External Tank Interface to be spread more evenly.
The basic dimensions are:
8.1 inches larger outer diameter, 7.5 inches smaller outer diameter by 2.85 inches hole diameter by 1.1 inches high.

I purchased the item in a lot of Flown Space Shuttle Hardware at the NASA Kennedy Space Center Ransom Road Facility in the 1990's.
