    Description

We are happy to offer for your consideration a beautiful art nouveau wrought iron and pressed glass pendant light from the 1920s - 30s. All the metal work was done by hand. The dome is made out of pressed glass and as is in very good condition. The wrought iron work is in very good condition was no damage or repairs. You can see a lot of the original handiwork marks that went into forming the iron frame. And a few small bubbles in the glass. Charming Poppies decorate the press the glass. The right iron has vines and leaves giving it a natural look. It is a lovely fixture.
This type of light fixture was made by any number of companies in France. My belief is it might be a Schneider Freyers. They did quite a bit with frames like this made of iron and natural forms. It could however also be a DEGUE or many other manufactures that were active during this time in France. The dome is unsigned which was common for the earlier pieces that were made for French consumption and not international production. As the glass companies became began to produce products for an international market and the competition was greater, they were much more likely to Hallmark all of the glass that they produced.
The illumination of this light was done by running a wire down one of the three iron suspensions and attaching it to a lightbulb socket. This can also be illuminated by three separate light bulb sockets which can be installed at each point that the right iron intersects with the glass. It’s a very easy lamp to rewire.
This light fixture is 26 inches tall from top to bottom and 13 1/2 inches wide.
