This is a superb French vintage Belle Epoque glass pendant ceiling lampshade. A large cloche shape in white opaline glass with a handkerchief waterfall frilled edge. Inspired by French early 20th century designs this is probably from the 1970s or 80s. It comes complete with a gold coloured plastic bulb holder, wiring and ceiling cup, which certainly isn't more than 40 years old, but works well.
It has a 57 mm hole in the top of the shade and could be used with another fixture if you have the right size.
A stunning French lighting solution, it would make a real statement in any beautifully designed room. An ideal gift for anyone with a love of French design and it could be a great prop for any production set in the early 20th Century.
In EXCELLENT vintage condition. The glass shade has no chips, cracks or other damage and the wiring is in good condition. As you can see it is currently in working order but you will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix this in your desired location, and it will be up to them to get it working there. If you have any concerns about safety you should get it professionally tested too. It is designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need adapting but that will be a simple job for anyone with electrical skills.  Please see ALL photos and remember it is around 100 years old and is pre-owned and pre-loved.
