Incredible piece of history. This flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of recently deceased, Congressman William H. Bates, who died in office. The flag was presented to his widow and is accompanied by a signed letter from the Architect of the Capitol J. George Stewart.
The flag is in its original box with “Bates” written on the outside.
The flag is accompanied by 2 letters. One letter, that isn’t signed, has a large crease. The signed letter is fine.
Flag measures 8 x 5 feet and is in pristine condition.
