Description
Antique French ceiling pendant is a classic white enamel with gold gilt bands. Some minor wear to the enamel around the screws holding the original pristine, flame-shaped glass shade. This antique piece was manufactured in the late 1800s - very early 1900s, before electricity became the norm. M
ade as a pendant gas lantern hanging downward from the ceiling in an entry hall or boudoir, it has never been electrified and is
in fact still complete, with the gas burner and a gas flow regulator composed of a small bar articulated by 2 small chains (used to change the gaslight intensity). It would be easy to wire the piece to fit modern electrical standards; the
copper
pendant is hollow and can accomodate a wire. The flat base has 3 small holes, so it can be attached to a ceiling. The portion regulating the gas flow can be detached or kept as is to retain the integrity of the antique pendant lamp. Measures 20 inches tall with the glass shade; 12.25 inches without the glass shade. Please review all photos.
