Description
In this listing we have a replacement Ken doll body made by Mattel. This body is the articulated pivotal Ken body first seen with the Harley Ken doll. This one uses a light tan skin tone. I think it's the from the Cheerleader doll. It's articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. This doll uses the pivotal style neck, so the current Fashionista Ken dolls can use it, along with some of the more modern collector dolls. This body was made in Indonesia. Also included is the doll’s original plastic doll stand. The base is black with a clear post and a clear waist grabber. It does not come with the metal stand shown in the pictures. The colors are a little off in the pictures. This doll body is in very good shape. It has never been played with, but it was displayed for a for a while. It does have some factory issues. The neck knob looks good without any stress marks. I did remove the top of the neck knob for my personal use, but that doesn’t affect using a new head with this body. It could make it easier to take off a head, so I wouldn’t give it to a child or anything. I do that will all my personal dolls and I have never had a head come of by accident. The torso looks good, it does have a few small scratches and scuffs here and there. The side seams and the shoulder seams are a little uneven. One side is a little big raised compared to the other side. It’s a very small issue, but you can see it. On the left side of his shoulder where the neck and torso meet there is a faint curved line in the plastic. It’s boomerang shaped where the plastic has a very shiny finish. There is a faint molded in line going down the center of the doll’s lower torso starting at his belly button. It is pretty minor. The
doll’s arms look good
, all parts of the arm have noticeable seam lines and mold injection spots. They didn’t line the seam lines up perfectly, so on both the upper and lower arm there are uneven along the seam line. There are also a few small gaps along the seam lines and in a few places some excess glue along the seam line. There are also some spots with some excess plastic along the seam lines. This is most obvious on the lower arm. The doll’s hands look good. They are a slightly different color than the rest of the body. They also have some molded in lines to them. They also have some excess plastic around the seam lines. They also have some small surface finish issues. In some spots they have a more matte finish compared to the shiny finish. The doll’s legs look good. The elastic used at the hips has loosened some so they are a slightly floppy. They’re not terrible, just not as tight as they could be. They will keep loosening over time. That is a common issue for these dolls. The legs also suffer from the same issues as the arms. All parts of the legs have noticeable seam lines and mold injection spots. They didn’t line the seam lines up perfectly, so on both the upper and lower legs there are uneven along the seam line. This is less obvious compared to the arms. There are also a few small gaps along the seam lines and in a few places some excess glue along the seam line. On the back of both thighs just below the hip joint there is a large spot where it looks like they sanded something off the body at the factory. It’s a small cosmetic issue. The doll’s feet look good. They are also a different shade than the rest of the doll’s body. They also have some molded in lines to them. They also have some excess plastic around the ankle joint. They don’t affect the joint, it looks to be a cosmetic issue. They also have some small surface finish issues. In some spots they have a more matte finish compared to the shiny finish. A lot of these issues are very common with Mattel doll bodies. The stand is in good shape, it’s never been assembled, there are some light scratches to the plastic, but it’s not too bad.
The stand looks good. It has never been assembled. It does have a few small scratches and scrapes to it, but it’s very minor.
