  • Condition: These Lincoln sconces have been returned to their original splendor and rewired for immediate installation. It is unbelievable the way they cleaned up and still maintained the softness of the mellow polychrome highlights. There is no touching up or air brushing but only 100 years of gentle aging and use. New rotary switches were installed for safety and new candle covers because the original ones were no good anymore. None of the iron back plates on the sconces exhibit any rust or discoloration and still their original gold color.

    Description

    The Lincoln N904 wall sconce was a popular item but usually came in a golden yellow color not the unusual cream color of these sconces. In addition, the painted patina of these sconces is remarkedly in tack and has mellowed by age very similar to what happens in an oriental rug.. They are not enhanced by air brushing or painting over that gives a crassly appearance. The patina is original showing use but what one would expect for 100 years. The threaded floral knobs that hold the sconce to the wall are still there which is not always the case. Enlarge the pics so the true feeling of the sconces can be realized.
