    Description

This is a lot of 11 items related to engineering design for the NASA Space Shuttle. They are from the collection of an engineer who worked at Rockwell International/Space Division on design of the Shuttle. Included in this grouping are: a) Two original 8" x 10" color photos of a Tank Insulation Vent Test. One is labeled "Tank Insulation Vent Test Set Up" and the other "Tank Skirt Insulation Velcro Separation/Billowing at End of Test"; b) 5 pieces of different types of gold-coated plastic film insulation that were being evaluated for use on the Shuttle. (Pieces are very thin and very fragile -- the actual amount and value of the gold is negligible); c) an envelope and a note from the engineer noting the thickness of the gold layer as 14 ten-billionths of an inch; and d) two Rockwell International pamphlets dated 1975 about the Space Shuttle program.
