Description
This listing is for a REWIREDhanging
ceiling light fixture
from the 1920's with
semi-translucent "clambroth" white glass shade.
This type of fixture has a thick heavy glass shade
and was most often used in
industrial
or commercial applications such as
storefronts, drugstores, apothecaries, etc.
This fixture has been
rewired
with new cloth covered wire, and the
original
socket has been fitted
with a new
insulating shell.
The chrome retains its original worn patina
with tarnish and wear - showing through
to brass
in a few areas.
It takes any
standard bulb of
up to 75 watts.
If more brightness is required, use a LED bulbs.
Approximate Dimensions;
-Total drop from ceiling is about 30-1/2",
and can be shortened to about 15-1/2"
(and nearly any length between)
by removing chain links to give more head room.
(I can do this for you if you let me know
immediately after purchase).
Approximate Dimensions;
- Shade measures about 9" across
- Shade Fitter Diameter - standard 2-1/4"
- Canopy Diameter at Ceiling - a little over 5"
I wired this lamp to a dimmer for the photo shoot
to show how varying wattage affects appearance.
The light bulb is not included in this purchase.
All necessary mounting hardware is included.
