    Description

Wedgwood And E F Caldwell Electric Lamps. Neoclassical design elements in this pair of magnificent electric lamps. No restoration, everything is original except for some new crystals. White Carrara marble bases with Wedgwood Jasperware medallion (3" x 1 2/3"). Original wiring has been cut for safety. Will need to be rewired if buyer wants to light these lamps. Brass metal work throughout with crystal drops to catch the light. At the turn of the Century  Cauldwell had a factory in New York where he designed electric lights, chandeliers etc.for wealthy clients who had just had electricity connected in there town houses. Electricity was much safer and brighter than gas. For more about Josiah Wedgwood and Edward G Cauldwell see Wikipedia.  Measurements are 18" tall, 11" wide, and 3" in depth. I have not attempted to clean these lamps. Buyer can, if desired, have brass and marble cleaned. More photos on request.
